Reese has had long hair for as long as I can remember. In years past when she wouldn't let me brush it, I would ask her if she wanted me to cut it and her answer was always, "You can't cut my hair!" So we never have, except for the occasional trim or shape up. About 6 months ago she said Mommy I want to cut my hair. I didn't know if she was serious so for over 2 months she had the same answer. I knew if we were to ever cut it, Mrs. Lisa in SC would be the only person I would trust, so we made our appointment for December 23. Jerry and I were both sad but excited but sad because our baby was growing up. After looking at different places to donate her hair, Reese decided to donate it to Locks of Love for girls who couldn't grow hair, her answer.

I have to say it was hard to see her cut it, I did shed some tears. But seeing Reese brush her hair and being so proud of herself for being able to do it, makes me smile.

Thanksgiving Weekend

My parents came and spent Thanksgiving with us. During this time I has having some major back issues, so I wasn't able to do too much, which included cooking and even shopping. We had Thanksgiving Lunch at Cracker Barrell, which was really good. Jerry and I have been going Black Friday shopping together since we started dating 14 years ago. This was the first year I couldn't go because I couldn't walk or stand still for long amounts of time. So my wonderful Daddy braved the crowds and went out with Jerry. He said when they got back on Friday that he has done his duty for the next 15years. Its amazing what a Papa will do for his granddaughters.

Saturday we got tickets for Dixie Stampede to go and see there Christmas show.

We know fall has arrived when its time for the Robert Tino Homecoming Festival in Sevierville. This is our 3rd year attending and it gets better every year. I love that all the kids get a Cowboy hat when they enter the area. There are several art stations you can create something, petting zoo, pony ride, and many other things to do.

After picking Reese up from school on a Friday we headed to Corryton to the Oakes Farm.

My parents and Nanny came up for a visit and of course we had to make a trip to Cades Cove to take in all the gorgeous colors.

Nanny Cockrell and Reese. My Nanny is such a trooper she had been sick for several weeks and just wasn't getting any better. The day before they came to visit she went to the doctor and was sent for a chest xray. When she got home on Monday the doctor called and said she had pneumonia. Thankfully after getting the right medicine she is back to her old self.

Every since the leaves began to fall, Reese has wanted to play in the leaves. Since we don't have trees around our house that was a hard request,but thankfully not this day.

What a month! Trying to get into a schedule with school. Jerry, Reese and I are night owls and late risers. So for all of us to get to bed early at night has been an adventure. Thankfully once we got into the habit, Reese is ready for bed by 8:30. I don't think getting ready in the mornings for school will ever be easy but we haven't been late so far.

The first week or so of school I had to take a picture of Reese before she headed out the door. My original plan was to take a picture everyday for the entire school year. Like I said my plan. But one morning we are running behind and I forgot and that turned into a week and now its not even a thought in the morning.

Every morning before we leave Reese has to pick out a stuffed animal or doll that has to go with us to school that morning. Don't worry they get left in the car for "naptime."

I can't believe the day has come that my baby is starting Kindergarten. I was so excited for her to go because she has been looking forward to it since her graduation from Pre-K in May. At least once a week throughout the summer she asked how many days til Kindergarten. The night before it really started to hit me that I had to trust other adults with the care and safety of my baby. Monday morning Reese woke up excited and ready to go.

In her back to school outfit and book bag/lunchbox. Unfortunately her school system requires all book bags to be mesh or plastic for safety reasons. So we didn't get to have the cutesy bag, but Reese picked out the monogram she wanted for it.

One of her highlights was that Daddy was going with her to school and he could see her classroom.

I will be honest, I had a hard time keeping it together that morning. Thankfully I had my camera and picture taking duties to keep me occupied. But once she was in class and sitting down I couldn't get out of there fast enough. It felt like the walk back to our car took an hour because I was trying to keep my tears from flowing.

Gone Fishin

Reese has been wanting to go fishing with her Daddy for some time. We wanted to do something special with her before she started school so Daddy went and got his fishing license. Since they were headed to Townsend, of course I had to go along too. Sorry I didn't fish, because I don't have the patience for it, so my job was to take pictures.

After the crew was done fishing we went and got a pizza and headed to Cades Cove for a picnic.

Kids Fest at Belk

Reese participated in the Kids Fest at our local Belk's Department Store on Saturday. Her and I went on Friday and picked out her outfit. Let me say I had a glimpse into the future and I am not looking forward to teenage years. She liked one outfit and I didn't so after some wheeling and dealing, I got my way.

Ready or Not Here We Come!!!

It was brought to my attention in July by my daughter that we had not gone to SC yet this summer. Which she was correct because for the past several years, her and I have gone back to visit family for a week. Since my parents were coming for a visit the last of July we decided to ride back with them and spend some time with my family. My goal for the week was not to have more than 1 visit planned per day so we could spend quality time with people without being rushed to go to the next plan. That was my plan but as we all know plans are usually erased and done differently.

Papa and Nana come to TN

Papa and Nana came for a visit the last weekend in July. We wanted to go and do something that Reese has never done and we decided on Go carts. I felt really bad because when we use to visit Pigeon Forge the first thing on our list to do was go and ride go carts. Now we have lived here over 3 years and haven't gone once.

Let me say that Reese loved it. Her and I rode together the first time and all I heard was "This is fun!," and "Wheeeeee!". The loud noise of engines have always scared Reese but she is finally over the noise. When we went back with Daddy and Dale to visit in SC the first thing Reese asked Daddy when we got to their house was, "Papa can we ride the 4-wheeler?" This was amazing because in the past I've put her on it screaming and then once they were going she loved it. Now she wants to ride!

Pre-K Graduation

It is hard to believe that our baby has graduated from Pre-Kindergarten. Time is definitely flying by too fast for me. We were so blessed to get into a great Parents Day Out program that offered Pre-K classes. Our main reason for enrolling her was to get her ready for Kindergarten, mostly being away from me. Not only did she make some incredible friends, I was also blessed to make some good friends.

She received the class award for "Most Excuses". She always had a reason for why she was out of her sit, talking, and so on. Maybe she will grow up to be a lawyer. But when asked what she wanted to be when she grows up, her answer, "A Princess at Disney World."

Spring Pictures

At our Parents Day Out program we had our spring pictures made. Since I work there I also had to have my picture made. Not my favorite thing to do. I love taking pictures but don't like being in them.

Reese graduated from Pre-K so of course we had to have a cap and gown picture. She looks way too grown up for me and brings reminders that one day this will be a high school graduation picture.

Spring Break Ends

After our busy and long day visiting our nation's capital, we decided to relax the rest of the week. Wednesday we went to the resorts indoor water park and just chilled in the water. That is why I have no pictures. I was not bringing my camera in there to get ruined. Thursday was my parents last day with us so we took in some of the local sites.

First stop was the Massanutten Overlook. It was a parking area at the top of Massanutten Mountain that overlooked the resort.

Next stop was Cross Keys Winery. We have never been to a winery and did an official wine tasting. I don't count the Apple Barn Winery as an official wine tasting not after having the co-owner explain the different textures and types of wine and the prizes they have won at festivals. Unfortunately I am not a wine expert so all that information meant nothing to me.

Getting ready for my wine tasting. I have to admit I'm not a drinker so it was very strong for me. After watching many movies I was wondering where my spit bucket was, but they didn't have one here. So I endured that first sip on some of them and poured the rest out. The crackers in between definitely saved my taste buds.

Dale and Jerry chickened out and wouldn't do it so it was a father/daughter bonding experience. We did buy 1 bottle to take back to a family friend.

After my parents left Friday morning, we wanted to take Reese on a Pony ride so she wouldn't be sad they had left. Reese loves horses and so it was the perfect thing to take her mind off of their departure.

She loved every second of it. Unfortunately it wasn't many seconds. They only went around the area for 2 laps and it was done.

After the pony ride we took Reese the local Teddy Bear Factory to build her a teddy bear, or a unicorn. She had money saved from Easter that she used to buy Penelope the unicorn.

That is a summary of our week in Massanutten, Virginia. It was a great relaxing time spent together and with my parents. I was able to check one more area off of my bucket list of places I want to visit.

Washington DC

The resort we stayed at offered tours to Washington DC to visit the memorials and many other sites. Since none of us have ever been to DC it was a perfect chance to experience something new. We loaded our bus at 5:45 that morning and off we went. We even got to experience the morning traffic in DC. I am so thankful that I don't have to deal with that everyday.

I am so glad we took this tour. After years of studying our country's history in school and reading about the memorials and monuments it is really neat to see them in person. I couldn't believe how close together they are because you picture them separated out and not in the middle of downtown. We also visited the Airforce and Navy Memorial, Iwo Jima Statue, Library of Congress, World War II Memorial, Vietnam Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, and Korean Memorial.

Shenadoah National Park

On Monday we went to visit Shenandoah National Park and drive Skyline Drive. The main reason we wanted to visit this are was to see this National Park. I remember when my Papa and Nanny Cockrell went on a trip to Shenandoah when I was younger and brought me back a ruler that had pictures from the park, and I said I will go there one day. I finally accomplished it. The weather was perfect! We entered the park at Swift Run Gap and drove north on Skyline Drive until we exited at the North Entrance gate.

Easter Sunday

We send Easter Blessings to all our family and friends from Massanutten, Virginia. Since our Spring Break from school followed Easter Sunday we took a family vacation to Virginia this year and were thankful that my parents met us up there for the week.

Reese on Easter morning seeing what the Easter Bunny brought her. The Easter Bunny knew we were traveling this year so he brought Reese's stuff in an easy travel bag, verses a bulky basket.

Before our Easter lunch of delicious grilled hambugers (Thanks Dad!), Nana and I took Reese to the playground to run off some energy.

Thankfully we went to the playground before lunch because we found out that there was going to be an Easter Egg Hunt later that day.

After the hunt! Reese was able to find 4 eggs! Which she was disappointed about but she actually did good because most kids leaving only had 2.

Day of Parties

This Saturday we had a full day of parties and pictures. Reese's friend from dance class last year, Makena was having her 5th birthday party at the movie theater. Part of the party was getting to see the new movie Rio, unfortunately we didn't get to stay for the movie because we had team pictures that morning. We had to make a quick stop by to wish her Happy Birthday!

Sunday Afternoon Outing

It was a beautiful clear, sunny, spring day. What better way to spend it than taking a drive out to Cades Cove to look for animals and have a picnic. Unfortunately the animals didn't get the memo that we were coming so only a couple of deer and turkeys came out to greet us.

Tornadoes vs. Yankees

Our first official game of the season was on Friday, April 1 against the Yankees. Compared to our tournament game, it looked like a completely different team.

Reese got 3 hits during the game.

Take Me Out to the Ballgame

Reese is in T-ball!! I can't believe our prissy little girl is playing baseball. We wanted her to have the opportunity to try it out and see if she likes it. We have been having practices on Tuesdays and Saturdays with about 10 other kids. This is all the kids first time playing ball so it is so funny seeing them learn the basics. It has definitely been a patience learning exercise for her Dad and I trying to help her throw, catch, and hit the ball.

On Saturday March 26 we had our opening ceremonies for the league, Smoky Mountain Youth Baseball Association (SMYBA).

In Round 1 of the T-Ball tournament we played the Bombers. This was the first time our kids have ever been in a game situation. Let's just say many, many lessons were won.

We were set to play in the losers bracket later that day, but unfortunately it was canceled due to rain.

"Never say Never"

My 5 year old has a boyfriend, Justin Bieber. She is in love with him. Everytime we get in the car its "I want Justin!!" and the concert begins. So when his documentary movie, "Never Say Never," came to the theaters we had to go see her man.

I have to say I really liked the movie. My poor husband is heart broken because he has been replaced with Justin.

5th Birthday Party

After we took Reese to Walt Disney World (post on trip will come soon) for her 5th birthday we had a family party for her at the Leesville Park. Our luck continued for beautiful weather on the day of her party. We had a great time eating cupcakes, playing on the playground, and just catching up with everyone.

Happy birthday to the love of my life and the best daddy my little girl could have. Since Reese was born he has had to take a back seat on his birthday because it is the day after Reese's and we are usually celebrating her day. This year we decided to celebrate Reese's 5th birthday, Jerry's, and my birthday at Walt Disney World. We even had the honor to take Nana for her first trip to Disney World. Disney World didn't disappoint. I think he got the most birthday wishes of his whole life wrapped up into 1 day. We love you!!

5 years ago God blessed us with a beautiful red head, blue eyed daughter; Reese McKayla. The happiest day of our lives was also one of the scariest days. Your Mom had some major medical complications and wasn't able to love on you until you were 3 days old. But your Daddy was there for every feeding, bath, and cuddle time. Our lives have been so much fuller and enriched since you chose us to be your parents.

Over New Years weekend we went back to SC to do our Christmas with family. In 2 days we celebrated with 5 different families for Christmas and had a birthday party. We were busy the entire time back in SC. What a blessing to be loved so much.

Saturday Lunch:

Happy New Year!! In the south it is tradition to eat greens and peas on that day. The greens are so you can have plenty of green bills in your pocket and beans for the coins in your pocket for the the new year. We combined the meal and exchanging of gifts at my Mom's and BB's that day at lunch.

Decided they wanted to take a nap. They stayed like this for 2 maybe 3 minutes.

What a whirlwind trip back. It was great to spread the Holiday season out for alittle bit longer. Jerry, Reese, and I are truly blessed this year to have a supportive family, warm home, but mostly a loving and caring God that loves us unconditionally.

Surprise Visitors

In the mist of ice and snow; Uncle Tim, Aunt Judy, Matthew, Hannah and their friends Megan and Casey made the trip up to Pigeon Forge to celebrate Hannah's birthday. We were able to meet up with them for an early supper on Monday night at Logan's Roadhouse.

Fun in the Snow

It snowed off and on all day Christmas. So the next day was a snow day. I am so glad Jerry was home because he was able to go out and play with Reese. I still have to be careful because I don't want to hurt my back. So all I could do was take pictures and video of them playing and sledding down the hill in the back yard.

Tender Tennesse Christmas

We celebrated Christmas at home in Tennessee this year. This was our first Christmas not spent in SC with our family. We also had another first, a white Christmas. We missed all of our family so much and getting to spend time with each of them, but we will be traveling back the first of January. We had a wonderful and relaxing time at home with our Princess.

Reese was so excited Christmas morning to see what was in her stocking. When she went to get her stocking the flash from the camera made a gift from Santa start moving. Her next reaction was "That's my walking dog!" Off she went to see what Santa left for her in his sack.

Santa didn't disappoint. He brought her the 3 things she asked him for in her letter to him:

*Toy Jesse

After opening Santa's toys and eating some breakfast, it was time to see all of her goodies in her stocking and opening her gifts from us.

Christmas at Dollywood

I think one of my favorite times to visit Dollywood is Christmas Time. It is beautiful and fun all year long, but it is something about it being cold and everything being lit up in lights that make it feel magical. It had been almost 3 weeks since I had my surgery but I wanted to make sure we made a trip during the Christmas season.

Thursday afternoon we dressed in our layers and headed to Dollywood.

All bundled up but her face was red from the cold.

What a great evening, but it was time to leave and go get some hot chocolate.

Events leading up to Chritmas

The days leading to Christmas can be so chaotic because everyone is having a party and there are so many things to do and see. It was harder for us to fit in all the tradional Christmas activites this year because I was recovering from surgery and also because we kept getting snow and all of Reese's school activites got canceled because of snow.

Our first attempt to visit Santa didn't go to well. We saw him from a distance but the line was too long, but we went to see him later in the month.

Reese wrote her letter to Santa. We told her she could only ask for 3 gifts from Santa because Jesus recieved 3 gifts when he was born. She asked Santa for 1) White horse, 2) Walking puppy, and 3) Toy Jessie.

Then came the snow!

Our family project. Mama had the idea, Daddy put the pieces together, Reese decorated and Momo supervised.

When Jerry's Dad came to pick up Momo to take her home so she could do her last minute Christmas things, he had 1 request, go to the Old Mill Restaurant for lunch.

A trip to the Old Mill is not complete until you feed the ducks.

Surgery

I had back surgery on Friday, December 3. I had a herniated disk in my lower back that was causing extreme pain in my right leg. The surgeon went in to clean up the debris from the disk and relieve the pressure off the nerve which was causing the pain. It was suppose to be an outpatient surgery and I would be home Friday night. One thing I've learned is I never do the normal. During surgery they saw I had a tear in my outer spinal fluid sack and couldn't get repair it due to its location. So in order to give it time to heal and to prevent any other tears I had to lay flat in bed for 3 and half days. So an outpatient surgery turned into a 5 day hospital stay for me.

Jerry and I have been so independent since having Reese because we haven't lived near family and had to do everything on our own, which I think has been a great learning experience. So we thought we would be fine and didn't need any help. Thankfully his parents insisted on coming up Thursday before my surgery to stay home with Reese. God is so good and in control. God saw past our independence and stubbornness and sent them anyway.

During my hospital visit Reese experienced a first. She has never spent the night away from me since she came home from the hospital. This was our first time away from each other and I was so scared, but it was for nothing. She did great with her Papa and Momo and they took great care of her. I am so thankful for Jerry's Mom. She stayed with us for over 2 weeks to help me recuperate and to keep Reese occupied. We are so blessed to have such great parents who always look out for us. We love you!

Happy Thanksgiving!!

We stayed home this year for the long Thanksgiving weekend. Thankfully my parents came to visit and spend the holiday with us. I didn't cook the big Thanksgiving meal this year due to a herniated disk that I had in my back and it made it very difficult to stand or walk for any amount of time. We went to our local Cracker Barrel and had a delicious turkey, dressing and all the trimmings meal.

Jerry and I have done the Black Friday shopping for over 10 year now. Even though I was in so much pain I was going to make myself go because I can't pass up a good deal and shopping. My Daddy is not a shopper, he's go get what you need and get out. I only remember him going out on Black Friday once and that was to get me a 19inch color tv for Christmas when I was a teenager. Daddy volunteered to go out with Jerry to Toys r Us and Walmart because I just couldn't do it. My guys left at 10:15pm Thursday night and didn't get back until 3am Friday morning. They stood in the rain and got soaked, then my Dad waited in line over 2 hours at Toys R Us and he said the things you do for your grandkids. The next day I was told that wasn't happening again for another 15 years. So a big Thanks to my Daddy and husband for being the great brave shoppers they are.

Saturday we all went to Dixie Stampede to enjoy some family time, laughs, and good food. We have never seen the Christmas show before and I think I like the Christmas show better than the regular season show.

Fall visit to SC

The first weekend in November we headed to SC to visit our family. As always, our weekend was full so we could try and see most of our family, but it is just too hard to fit everyone in.

Happy Halloween!!

Reese had a very busy Halloween this year. It started with her party at school where they dressed up and went trick or treating to all the classrooms. I didn't get a good picture of my "Cinderella" because I was substituting that day in another classroom.

We have attended the Trunk or Treat at Beech Springs Baptist Church for the past 2 years so we had to go back this year.

Sunday evening the Kodak Methodist Church (where Reese goes to school) sponsored a community Trunk or Treat at the Smokies Baseball Stadium. It was a huge crowd and line of people to get in, but they had it so organized that it didn't take long.

We even saw a friend, Cherish from the library while we waited to get in.

We had a great weekend dressing up and meeting new people. Now to do something all the candy we collected.

Instead of taking Reese to a portrait studio to do fall pictures this year, Jerry and I decided to do them ourselves. We headed to our "backyard", the Great Smoky Mountain National Park.

Family Fun

Allison, Phoebe, and Nanny Cockrell have come for another visit. That is 2 trips in a year to see us and we were so excited to have them with us.

Phoebe and Reese had so much playing with each other. They shared toys and even played chase throughout the house.

Since it was fall we went to Kyker Farms to have fun outside.

Reese and Phoebe had fun in the corn crib. All Phoebe wanted to do was throw the corn up in the air. So this was a rare moment to not have corn flying everywhere.

The best part was the slides. They had 2 sizes and all the girls loved it.

The first weekend in October a local artist holds a fall festival at his gallery. We went last year and Reese had a great time, so we definitely wanted to go back this year.

They have a tent set up for the kids to come and do a art project. Last year it was to paint a rock, but this year they let the kids paint a mountain scenery picture on a canvas.

Pumpkins, Hayride, and Rain

While Papa Cockrell and the gang went to Alabama racing, Nana and Nanny Cockrell drove up to see us and we couldn't have been happier to see them.

Saturday we decided to go somewhere we have never been. We drove to Greenback, TN to go to the Maple Lane Farm to enjoy some fall activities. First on our list was to go on a hayride.

Nanny Cockrell said she hadn't been on a hayride in over 60 years when she was a little girl.

Papa and Momo come to TN

The weekend that Reese was had the eye infection, Jerry's parents, Papa and Momo came for a visit.

Amazing what a difference a day can make. Everyday afterwards it kept looking better and better.

We went back for a checkup Monday with the eye doctor and she said everything was looking great. After doing an eye examine said her sight was perfect and no reason to come back. We give God the glory for touching our little girls eye.

First ER Visit

We made our first ER visit Thursday night. It all began Tuesday night on the way to the gym Reese kept complaining that her left eye hurt. I thought she just had an eyelash in it, we tried looking at it but couldn't see anything. Wednesday morning she woke up with some discharge dried up in the corner of her eye and looking like this.

I took her to see the pediatrician because I have never had pink eye and wasn't sure what it looked like. We'll the doctor thought that she had pink eye and gave us drops. So we stayed home from school Thursday since she was "contagious". That afternoon Reese took a nap, which only happens when she is sick. She woke up crying because she couldn't open her eye, but then the scary part happens. Her tears are blood. Her eye is bleeding. I called the on call nurse and she said go to the ER at Children's Hospital. Jerry gets home from work and we head back to the hospital. After Reese receiving "relaxing" medicine (which had the opposite effect on her) the doctors began looking in her eye because they thought she had mulch in it since they saw something black. After them poking around and 3 people holding Reese down they said for us to see a Pediatric Eye Doctor the next morning.

Thankfully the ER doctors gave her a high dose of antibiotics which helped so much with the swelling from the night before. (Sorry only pictures I have are on my phone) Thankfully the eye doctor said there was no debris in her eye but she had a clogged tear duct and was causing the infection. We went home with more antibiotics, doing warm compresses every couple of hours, and praying that the swelling goes down because if it didn't she would have to have surgery to remove the infection. God answered our prayers that weekend and as Reese says, "God healed me." That is the account of our first ER visit and drama for the month of September.

First and Second Day of Preschool

The official first day of school was while we were at Disney, so after we got home, Reese had her first day of preschool. She was so excited to go and I was so nervous for her.

She had a great start to school and loves every minute of it.

All Good Things Come to an End

Our week long vacation came to an end and we headed back to SC to get our first born fur baby. There was one person I wanted to see before we went home to TN and that was my precious niece Layla. It seems like we never get to spend enough time with her when we visit, but I had to get a quick hug and bring her a gift from Minnie.

DISNEY WORLD on Friday!!

We started our Friday, last full day at Disney, by having breakfast at Chef Mickey's in the Contemporary Resort.

We had a great breakfast getting to meet all the characters. We gave Reese the choice where she wanted to go next, Magic Kingdom etc. She choice to go back to the park with the big ball, Epcot. Jerry and I tried to talk her out of if but her mind was made up and we went to Epcot.

A plus to going back to Epcot she got to get her picture with Aladdin and Jasmin, then Milan.
That evening we had dinner at Whispering Canyon at the Wilderness Lodge.

Reese was the lead horse at the horse roundup.

We meet this sweet lady Ms. Kay when she sat us at our table. We didn't get into the pin trading that goes on at Disney put Ms. Kay gave Reese her first trading pin. She let Reese pick any pin off her lanyard, she picked the employee pin and made Reese promise to always keep it and never trade the pin. That is a promise we can keep.

The whole week we kept seeing kids get drinks with a Tinkerbell that lit up and Reese kept asking for one. The last night we decided to get her the special Tinkerbell drink. Let me say I'm glad you got to keep the cup and light up Tinkerbell because the drink inside was nasty. I don't think she cared too much about the drink.

We had an awesome trip to Disney! By the end of the week we were ready for a day to chill because you are constantly on the go. We kept saying this was a once in a lifetime trip but I think we will be returning to Disney World.

DISNEY WORLD on Thursday!

Thursday was our day at Hollywood Studio's. We began our day with a breakfast at the Play n Dine, where we got to meet some of the Playhouse characters.

Reese was so excited to met Leo, June, Jo Jo, and Handy Mandy.

Off we go to see a couple of shows like, Voyage of Little Mermaid and Playhouse Disney, and to see some characters along the way.

Waiting to watch the story of Belle. At this point Reese had only seen pictures of Belle and read a book about Beauty and the Beast so I was excited for her to see the story in person.

Lunchtime at the 50's Diner. At this point just being able to go inside and cool off was a blessing.

After being outside in the heat we were so thirsty. So once we got our drinks they were gone in no time. Well after Jerry finished his drink so fast our waiter brought him 3 drinks, threw a hand full of straws at him. Gotta love the atmosphere of the 50s Diner.

Of course Reese was in heaven having so many straws or drums.

Then the waiter brought us a map of Hollywood Studio's with all the restrooms circled.

Jerry and Reese went back to the Star Wars store after lunch to make them a custom light saber.

I think someone was tired. This is a very unusual sight in our house, Reese sleeping in the middle of the day. Don't worry we tried to get her out to finish her nap in the room, she woke up. So we cooled off at the pool the rest of the evening.

Wednesday was our day to spend at Epcot.

This was our waitresses last day working at Disney before heading home to Norway.

After eating breakfast our next stop was the restroom to change clothes because the dress was itchy. I couldn't help but laugh because the restroom was filled with other mom's changing their girls out of their dresses for the same reason.

We ate lunch at the Coral Reef Restaurant which is seated in front of a huge aquarium. We were lucky enough to get a table right next to the glass but unfortunately it was very hard to take pictures due to the lighting.

Later that evening we enjoyed and evening in Mexico.

We finally took Reese's Princess Hair down before heading to the pool and you can see it didn't move. She had a permanent ponytail and a red ring in her scalp from the ponytail. I definitely need some of their styling products.

DISNEY WORLD on Tuesday!

Tuesday was our big day at Magic Kingdom. We had 2 character meals reserved along with a special appointment at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique for Reese.

When we left Crystal Palace we walked outside and saw this writing above Cinderella's Castle. We have seen the air writing before in previous trips to Florida.

Now it was time for Reese to become the royal princess that we all know she is.

The dress didn't last long that day for 2 reasons. First it was so hot that we opted or cooler clothing and second the dress was to itchy according to Reese.

DISNEY WORLD on Monday!

On Monday we took Reese to Magic Kingdom for the first time. This was her first time seeing Main Street and at the end Cinderella's Castle. She was so excited and happy to be there. Seeing her face light up was the best feeling.

Entrance to Magic Kingdom. (On Tuesday we got to see Mickey Mouse do the opening ceremony of the park on the balcony of this building along with his friends.)

A trip to Magic Kingdom is not complete until you have a set of Minnie Ears. Reese picked out her princess ears.

After leaving the park we rode the boat back to the Polynesian Resort where we had dinner reservations at the Ohana. It was a relaxing ride after a hectic day inside the park.

Sunday we headed to Animal Kingdom. Our first stop was breakfast with Donald Duck and friends at the Tusker house.

After breakfast we ran into Chip and Dale then

After spending the day on a safari, Mt. Everest, and visiting the Dinosaurs. We headed to the Grand Floridan to have dinner at 1900 Fair with Cinderella and her family.

Before heading on our Disney vacation we stopped over in SC for 2 days to help break the drive up, and to drop our cat off at my parents house. Nana and Papa were babysitting our other child, Willow, for the week while we were on vacation. This was one trip we couldn't bring him with us.

Daddy was going over to Uncle Billy and Aunt Sheila's house for something and I wanted Reese to ride the 4-wheeler. Reese starts crying because she is scared of the noise and being the good Mom I am, I just put her on it crying and said go. Well by the end of the drive way she was telling Papa this is fun and to go faster.

Thursday we were able to have lunch with Jerry's family at our favorite place to eat in B-L, Mi Rancho. We love some chips and cheese dip.

I can't believe its been 1 month since I did my last entry on our blog. Just a quick catchup.

Jerry was home sick with pneumonia for 3 weeks right before our big trip to Disney World. Before heading to Disney we stopped off in SC to leave our cat, Willow with Nana and Papa for the week. We had an awesome trip to Disney. We rode lots of rides, saw many characters, and ate some great meals. I'm still working on editing my pictures from the trip, I took over one thousand pictures. WOW! Once we got back home Reese started parents day out program at a local church 2 days a week, to get her prepared for kindergarten next year. She is loving every minute of it, me I'm having to adjust to having 5 hours to myself on those days. Unfortunately I've been having some major back issues the entire time where I have to lay flat so I'm not in pain. I went for an MRI and it showed I have a bulging disc pressing against the nerve in my leg. Now I go Monday to a Neurosurgeon to see what the next step is, I'm up for anything to get me out of pain and to just be able to walk. So today Reese is home sick with pink eye, and she looks pitiful. Her left eye is so swollen that she can barely open it. Hopefully soon I will have my pictures together and there will be plenty to look at.

Saturday, Jerry was cutting grass in the back yard while Reese and I were inside. Jerry comes in the house and says "Look what I found!" Reese and I went outside and there in the higher grass was this baby rabbit. Jerry saw it running in the corner of his eye and thought at first it was a rat and then saw it was a rabbit.

We tried to catch it but it took off running/hopping up the hill and my first thought was its going in the garage since the door was open. So we take off up the hill and there it was going down the road and all of a sudden it disappeared. Unfortunately it fell into the drainage crate in the road. We tried to see if we could find it but it was gone. Hopefully it found its was out.

Summer Luau

Jerry's parents came up for a visit in July. That Friday, I had a doctor's appointment, so Reese stayed with Momo and Papa. After my appointment my husband treated me to a lunch date at PF Changs. I've heard about it through other blogs and even on tv, so it was on my list of places to try once. We enjoyed a great lunch together and just talking without interruptions.

Don't worry Reese had alot of fun going to McDonald's and playing on the playground.

The last Summer Reading Program event was a Luau at the library. They had birds from Parrot Mountain, games, crafts, and pizza.

After the girls did a hula dance, Mrs. Vicki gave them stickers for participating.

The owner came from Parrot Mountain for a show and tell with the birds. Most importantly he gives all the credit to God and shares the salvation that can be given to you by accepting Jesus in your life. Plus you may see him in October on TLC's show "19 Kids and Counting". The Duggar Family and Bates Family visit Parrot Mountain in Pigeon Forge.

Reese and her friends Cheyenne and Cherish. It is not easy to get three 4 year olds to look at the camera when there is so much going on around them.

I love the look on Cherish's face while holding the bird. I tried several times to get Reese to hold the bird, but she would only pet it.

She finally wanted to hold the bird who likes to sleep. Right after this picture the man lost grip of his feet and he fluttered, Reese got scared and dropped the bird on the floor.

Reese and Mrs. Vicki, our favorite Children's Librarian. Mrs. Vicki is so great with the kids that come there every week, you can tell she genuinely loves them and wants them to succeed in learning to love reading. We are so thankful for God putting this sweet, kind lady in our paths.

Reese and I went back to SC to visit family for a week while Jerry was gone to Florida for work.

Friday evening after we got into town Reese and I went to Wiz's Eatery for supper with Daddy and Dale and we meet the Edwards' there.

Saturday, Nana kept Reese so I could have a girl's day with my sister-in-law Autumn. We went and saw Eclipse, which is the best movie in the Twilight Series so far in my opinion. Then after some shopping and a snack we headed home, I forgot to get some pictures of us, maybe next time.

Sunday morning Reese and I went to River's Edge Church with Babe, Autumn, Cameron and Winter. We enjoyed the service and getting to see some old friends. After church we went to eat dinner at Nanny Cockrell's.

Monday morning I got to take Nanny Cockrell to a doctor's appointment. Since Allison had to work that day I decided to "steal" Phoebe for a girls day.

We enjoyed a great lunch with Nanny Cockrell (sorry I never got any pictures of you) and then what girls day is complete with out a trip to Belk's.

Monday night we meet up with Jerry's parents to go and get some supper at our favorite Mexican place in Leesville, but it was closed for some repairs, so we tried a new Mexican place in town, and Mi Rancho is still the best.

Tuesday Reese went with Autumn, Cameron, and Winter to Bible at the Park that their church was sponsoring and then swimming at their pool for the day. Nana had to go and have her defibrillator fixed from her surgery in May, so I went to the hospital with her and my Dad. Later that day, Reese and I had supper with my Mom and step-dad at their house. After eating us girls enjoyed riding around the golf course on the golf cart. Reese discovered "soft" grass on this visit. Reese has never been a fan of grass since she was a baby. She walked across the green at the golf course and that was all she wanted to do was walk on the grass. I forgot my camera on this visit so I don't have pictures of her enjoying the grass.

Wednesday morning we headed to Nanny White's to visit with her and eat some good lunch. Aunt Judy and Hannah came and ate with us, so we all got to catch up.

Hannah just got her 1st car so I had to get her styling in it.

Now everyone is scared that she is DRIVING!!!

Later that day I took Reese on a 4wheeler ride at my Dad's house. Then Aunt Sheila took us around the neighborhood on their Polaris. Usually Reese won't let me ride her on these things because of the noise. To solve this problem we got her some ear muffs and she is ready to ride now.

Thursday we meet Autumn, Cameron and Winter for lunch at Mi Rancho. Afterwards Winter went with Reese and I to get Reese's haircut. Since the girls were so good we stopped for ice cream before going back to Winter's house. Later that afternoon I had to go and watch Phoebe for an hour for Aunt Sheila until Allison got home.

Phoebe would chase Reese around the house and then Reese would chase Phoebe, the girls had a blast together.

Friday morning Reese and I packed our bags, loaded the van, and headed home to TN.

Here is a picture I took of the Rockslide that the DOT is cleaning up from last October. If you look just above the tree line you can see 2 men working.

We had a great trip back to visit family. We didn't get to see everyone, which we hated but there is always next time. We are so blessed to have so many people who love us and want to see us.

Happy 4th of July to everyone!! We are so thankful for all the veterans who have fought in the past and present to give us our freedom and to preserve the freedom that has been granted to us. As we celebrate our country's freedom we also celebrate the freedom we have in Christ.

After church we came home and I grilled hamburgers, wienies, corn on the cob and squash. After eating we got ready to head to the pool for an afternoon of swimming.

Fun with Good Friends

To start our 4th of July weekend off we went to Kids Fest at Dollywood.

We love the Penguin Players! They recreate childhood books into a play for kids to enjoy. We have seen Llama Llama Mad at Mama and Llama Lama Red Pajama many times. So we got to see The Little Engine that Could on this visit. I think I enjoyed their performance better than the book and I rarely say the movie/performance is better than the book.

The plan was for me to call my friend LaShea when I got into the park so we could meet up. Typical me I forgot my cell phone in the car. After seeing a show and riding a couple of rides, Jerry said why don't we look around the the County Fair area and see if we see them. I was like okay, but not expecting to find them. Well God has a sense of humor because around the next corner there she was with her family. So we got to spend the rest of the day riding rides with LaShea and her family; Tony, Kiera, Makena, Aliyah, and Tegan.

Tegan and I watched the rest of the crew get soaked on River Battle. Have been so lucky to still not have road that ride!LOL!

Jerry, Tony, Makena, and Reese were on one side and LaShea and Kiera were on the other side, so it was hard for me to get pictures of them.

Reese was not happy after getting off. She likes to get wet, but doesn't like to get sprayed and that is all that happens on that ride.

One last picture of the girls getting soaked. I am so glad we ran into the Colsons' on Thursday. We had so much fun with all the kids riding rides and getting wet.

On Saturday the Colsons' church, City on a Hill, sponsored a free kids event at the Knoxville Center Mall. They had games, a bounce house, face painting and more for the kids to enjoy.

June where did you go??

I'm finally getting around to updating our blog. I looked at our last post and it was from the beginning of June. The summer weeks are running away from us. The first week of June the Sevierville Library had a Kickoff Party for the Summer Reading Program. Unfortunately mother nature didn't want to cooperate that day with the outside festivities, so everything had to be taken indoors.

Cheyenne, Reese's friend, were ready to go and play.

The bubble pool was Reese's favorite activity. A reporter from the local paper was there documenting the event at the library. The next day Reese had her picture on the front page.

Also during the first week of June my Nanny White, Aunt Judy and her family, and my Uncle Doug and his family came up to Pigeon Forge camping for the week. We were blessed to get to spend some time with them. It seems when I go home to visit that I don't get to see them very often, so I always appreciate this time so much more.

Saturday we went by the campground and Hannah, Cole, and Aunt Judy were by the pool. So you know where my little girl had to go. Here she is swimming with Hannah.

Tuesday Reese and I went with Doug, Gina, Mira, Cole, and Hannah to Dollywood. Nanny White and Judy didn't want to go so they went shopping instead.

We had a great day laughing and having fun. After we left, Nanny White, Judy, and Jerry had supper waiting on us at the campground. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of Nanny or Judy, I kept forgetting to take my camera out. We love ya'll and are so glad we got to spend some time with you!!

Dollywood with Memaw and Papa BB

My parents, Memaw and Papa BB, came up the first week in June for their vacation. We meet up with them on a Friday and went to Dollywood for the afternoon.

I never knew my mom liked to ride rides until this trip, so Reese took full advantage and had her riding everything she had time for.

The final straw was the Lemon Twist Tea Cups. Memaw couldn't handle it, and Reese was yelling "go faster" in between laughs.

Papa and Nana come to Town

My parents, Papa and Nana, came up for a week visit to spend time with us. We weren't sure if they would get to come because Nana had a defibrillator put in the week before they came up. She was doing great after her surgery so they were able to come.

Memorial Day we decided to just go and drive and see where we ended up. Well, we ended up back at Cades Cove. On the way up we got stopped by a park ranger on the road. A tree was leaning over the road so they were having to pull it down off the hill. This is everyone waiting so patiently for the work to be done.

I had to share a picture of my 1st fur baby, Willow. Poor thing he is not photogenic at all, he always looks so mean. He will be 7 years old this summer.

Memorial Day Weekend

We had a busy and fun filled Memorial Day weekend. Reese had her 1st dance recital that Sunday, but most importantly we had family that came up to see us. My parents came for the week and my aunt and her family made their 1st visit to see us since we moved to Tennessee.

Allison, Dave, and Phoebe got to our house Friday evening. After Phoebe's bath, Reese and her got on our bed and were playing chase with each other.

Saturday we made a trip out to Cades Cove. We haven't been out there since they repaved and widened the loop and it was so smooth. This was one of my Papa Cockrell's favorite places to go when he came to TN, so it was special to get to share it with Phoebe.

We have always said Reese takes the best pictures with Allison and Dave, and it still holds true. They were even all matching!!
